Oh my God!
Oh my God!
Oh my God!
It’s here! It’s finally here!
And! It! Looks! Amazing!
The first half features dialogue between Din Djarin and The Armourer, from ‘Chapter 8’ of Season 1 where she tells him about the old war between the Jedi and Mandalorians and that his task is to reunite The Child with its people.
We first see a damaged Razorcrestheading towards a planet that looks a bit like Sorgan from Season 1.
We find a new location, with Mando and The Child walking through a town, we see it again later when Mando shoots a streetlight with someone hanging from it. I’m assuming this is also the location of the Fighting Ring.
There are a number of shots featuring a snowy planet. I’ve seen speculation that this could be Illum, the planet that becomes Starkiller Base. My concern with this theory is that we don’t see much in the way of the Empire (Remnant or otherwise) and seeing as the planet was being transformed during the Galactic Civil War (as seen in ‘Jedi: Fallen Order’) you’ expect a larger military presence.
There’s some shots on a water planet, first at the docks where Mando sees a mysterious character played by Pro-Wrestler Sasha Banks, there are fans speculating that she could be playing Sabine Wren but I just don’t see it I’m afraid. Mando and The Child also get on a boat which is interesting, first time we’ve seen that in ‘Star Wars’.
We get to see an Imperial Stronghold and some amazing shots of Speeder Bikes in action which are incredibly exciting as well as some Outland TIE Fighters taking off which still hasn’t gotten old. We also get to see inside and it looks very well kept, much like Gideon’s Stormtroopers in Season 1.
A couple of shots of Tatooine confirm a return to the planet, we see a Tusken Raider on a Bantha as well as Mando and The Child on a Speeder Bike.
A few shots of The Razorcrest in action, flying through atmosphere with X-Wings in pursuit. This could be a bait and switch and Mando is leading them instead of being chased, we do see a shot of an X-Wing coming up to the Razorcrest’s cockpit which doesn’t seem threatening based on Mando’s reaction. Could they be attacking Gideon’s stronghold?
Having watched it on Disney+, subtitles reveal the name of the Cyclops alien to be Gor Koresh. His goons pull blasters on Mando who activates the Whistling Birds, causing The Child to close its crib, we hear the sounds of fighting over a black screen until we get Mando throwing a knife into a Zabrak’s chest. I would love it if the scene plays out like that in the show.
There are a few shots of Mano with the Jet Pack in use, so he must have been getting some practice. A shot of Greef and Cara on Nevarro gives us a new look at the two characters, I’m intrigued by what would lead him back to Nevarro, maybe he needs a quick job to get some money in the bank?
Needless to say, I love the trailer, I’m so excited, I can’t wait for 30th October. The episode better launch before I go to work or I will be a very unhappy Womp-Rat!
