‘Tis The Season To Build Lego – Day 23

The run-up to Christmas has arrived and with it the all important Advent Calendar.

This year, my Wife, the Saint, the Expert Gifter, the Gift-Giving Goddess has bought me the Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar and with it she has also given all of you dear readers 24 days of Blog Posts.

And the penultimate build of the Advent Calendar is…

General Antoc Merrick.

FINALLY! We finally get General Merrick from ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’.

I really like this character, the leader of Blue Squadron, he was one of the minor characters I took to when I first saw the film and I have always wanted a Blue Squadron X-Wing with General Merrick.

The face looks spot on for the character and the hair piece makes him instantly recognisable. The printed design of the flight-suit looks great, it’s been redesigned from the previous Blue Squadron mini-figs from 2016’s U-Wing and Y-Wing sets.

One thing I would have liked, and would have happily paid extra for, is that the recent X-Wing set came with the parts/stickers to make the ship either from Red Squadron or Blue Squadron, rather than Red 3 or Red 5. He’ll, I’d buy two! But at least we got the mini-fig!

It’s possibly the highlight of the Calendar for me, just saying. Don’t @ me.
