Clone Wars Legacy – The Return?

When the twelve episodes of Season 7 of The Clone Wars come to an end, which will probably bring the series to its conclusion with at least three story arcs, including ‘The Siege of Mandalore’ there are a plethora of arcs they can choose from, the Boba Fett/Cad Bane arc, The Sith Temple arc, Yoda and the Wookiees, The Bad Batch and Crystal Crisis arcs and Ahsoka on Coruscant to name a few and we don’t know if Filoni and co. haven’t written new arcs for this season.

If we only get three arcs that leaves a whole bunch of unused material. Back in 2013/2014 we were told that untold stories would reach the fans in other mediums. We got Dark Disciple as a novel, Son of Dathomir as a comic series and then The Bad Batch and Crystal Crisis arcs as animatics. But there are still more stories to tell.

Once Season 7 is done is it possible for the ‘Clone Wars Legacy’ to become a thing again and get the untold stories. Personally I would love a series of novels to finish off the series, but I’m more than welcome to getting them in other mediums as well.

Of course, if Season 7 is a success for Disney, it’s possible they may decide to make these untold stories for Disney+ and keep that part of the franchise in one place, which could mean more seasons or animated films, like the DC Animated films which are always popular.

I feel it would be a waste of the fantastic writing talent that worked on The Clone Wars to let the untold stories gather dust on a shelf somewhere in the Lucasfilm Vault and the fan base, which is often divided at the moment, generally all enjoy The Clone Wars so more stories would always be greatly appreciated.

Personally I would love to get the Sith Temple arc as discussed at the ‘Ahsoka’ panel at SWCE 2016 where a Sith Temple is discovered, buried under the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Ever since hearing about it I’ve been very intrigued and was reminded today by a Podcast that it was mentioned in one of the recent novels. Looks like I have some more reading to do.
